  • I typically recommend meeting weekly for the first ~4-6 weeks. This gives us a chance to get comfortable with one another. It also gives me time to get a sense for your nervous system’s needs and how we’re going to approach your goals!

  • EMDR (or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence based treatment protocol developed by Dr Francine Shapiro that helps us target your present day distress or dysfunction by helping you “digest” your past experiences while grounded in the present.

    Here’s a video that might be useful. But please know— you don’t have to understand it fully in order to benefit! That’s my job!

  • We can’t be sure until we try. But EMDR is only one technique I use to facilitate healing and growth.

    You do not need to have PTSD (or even identify as a trauma survivor) to benefit.

  • Yes! I accept Optum (inclusive of Mass General Brigham Health, United) as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield.

  • My individual session fee is $180. If you think I may be the right therapist for you and this rate feels cost prohibitive, please reach out!! I have several sliding fee slots available for folks with financial need.

  • Some insurance plans offer what’s called an “out of network benefit.” This means they will reimburse some or all of the cost of your care if you choose a provider that isn’t in their network. Reach out and we can discuss, if you’d like to use your out of network benefit!

  • I’m so glad you asked. Whether or not you identify as a trauma survivor, you can still benefit from trauma informed therapy. Trauma encapsulates not only big and catastrophic events — but also the moments your nervous system felt overwhelmed or unsafe— and I’ve yet to meet someone that hasn’t felt one of those!

    We’ll work with the ways your body learned to protect you when you were overwhelmed or fearful. These patterns are often wise and adaptive, but they can become exhausting over time. Therapy can help your system find more safety, flexibility, and ease

  • Each session is 55 minutes.

    The length of the entire process of therapy can vary widely. Sorry for the non-answer— it’s the truth!

    It depends on how specific or broad your goals are. Most people that I work with typically attend sessions consistently for at least 6 months.
